Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 15, 2026.

LazyPal (“LazyPal”, “we”, “us”, “our”) operates the LazyPal directory website (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. By using the Site you agree to this Policy.

1. Who we are

LazyPal is a local business and services directory based in British Columbia, Canada. For any privacy question or request, contact us at privacy@lazypal.com.

2. Information we collect

(a) Information you give us: account information (name, email address and password, stored hashed by our platform provider) when you register; listing information (business or provider name, description, photos, category, location, phone number, email address, website and social links you submit for publication — information you submit for a public listing is intended to be publicly displayed); communications (messages you send us, such as support, abuse reports and takedown requests, and our replies); payments (if you buy a paid or featured listing, payment is processed by our third-party payment processors such as Stripe, Lemon Squeezy, Polar or PayPal — we receive confirmation, the plan purchased and billing identifiers, but we do not collect or store your full card number).

(b) Information collected automatically: usage and device data (pages viewed, searches and filters used, clicks, IP address, browser and device type, approximate location derived from IP address, referring pages); cookies and similar technologies (see Section 7).

(c) Information from third parties: if you sign in with a third-party account (for example Google), we receive the basic profile information that provider shares with your permission.

3. How we use information

To operate, maintain and improve the Site; publish, moderate and manage listings; process payments and prevent fraud; respond to inquiries, abuse reports and legal requests; send service emails (account, listing status, receipts) and, only with your consent where required, marketing emails you can opt out of at any time; measure traffic and advertising performance; and comply with our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.

4. Adult sections — extra care

Parts of the Site contain adult-oriented listings (the “Adult” categories), restricted to visitors at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where they live, if higher). Browsing history relating to these sections is treated as sensitive: we do not use it to build advertising profiles for third parties, we do not sell it, and we disclose it only as described in Section 5. Consider using your browser’s private mode if you do not want this activity stored on your own device; that is under your control, not ours.

5. Who we share information with

Service providers who help us run the Site, under confidentiality obligations: our website platform and hosting provider (Row.so), analytics providers, email delivery providers, customer-support tools, and payment processors. Advertising partners: the Site may display advertising served by third parties (including Google and advertising partners managed through Google Ad Manager); these partners may use cookies as described in Section 7; we do not share your name, email address or listing account details with advertisers. Legal and safety: we may disclose information if required by law, court order or lawful request; to enforce our Terms of Service; to report suspected exploitation, trafficking or other illegal activity to law enforcement or to organizations such as the Canadian Centre for Child Protection / Cybertip.ca or the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC); or to protect the rights, property or safety of LazyPal, our users or the public. Business transfers: if LazyPal is sold, merged or reorganized, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.

6. How long we keep information

Public listings are kept while the listing is active and are removed or archived when the listing expires, is withdrawn, or violates our Terms. Under our current listing periods, free listings expire 12 months after publication (30 days for Adult-category listings) and paid premium placement runs for 30 days. Account information is kept while your account is active. Backups and logs are retained for a limited period and then deleted or anonymized. We may retain certain records longer where required by law or to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

7. Cookies and advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences and filters, understand how the Site is used, and serve and measure advertising. Third-party advertising partners, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites. You can control cookies in your browser settings; opt out of personalized advertising at Google’s Ad Settings and through industry opt-out pages; and use browser privacy features. Blocking cookies may affect how the Site works. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies.

8. Your rights and choices

Subject to applicable law (including Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where it applies, substantially similar provincial law), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and withdraw consent to its use, by contacting privacy@lazypal.com. You can update most account and listing information yourself in your account. We respond to requests within the time required by law. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your provincial privacy regulator.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS). No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

The Site is not intended for anyone under 18. The Adult sections are strictly 18+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us information or appears anywhere on the Site, contact privacy@lazypal.com immediately and we will remove it. Any listing that sexualizes, or appears to involve, a minor is removed and reported to the authorities (see our Terms of Service).

11. International visitors

The Site is operated from Canada and our providers may process information in Canada, the United States and other countries, where privacy laws may differ from your own. By using the Site you consent to that processing where consent is the applicable legal basis.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above will change, and material changes will be highlighted on the Site. Continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the updated Policy.
