Founded in 1948, the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic sits on the Halifax waterfront on Lower Water Street and is the oldest maritime museum in Canada. Its galleries cover the Titanic — including a rare intact deck chair — the 1917 Halifax Explosion, shipwrecks and the age of steam, with the CSS Acadia moored outside.
